1. Pursuing peace is fundamental to US and international law.

Currently our security, prosperity and liberty as a people are being actively undermined by a pro-war faction that violates US and international law with total impunity.

Their actions are unjust and illegal, impoverishing our nation and ruining our standing in the world. They must be stopped if traditional American values are to have a future.

2. "Waging Peace" is the first book to offer a frank assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the current US peace movement.

It's also the first book to offer concrete, practical, and realistic measures to expontially increase the US peace movement's effectivess.

3. The author of "Waging Peace", Scott Ritter - a former US Marine officer and UN weapons inspector - has not only shown his practical understanding of what's required to organize action effectively, he has also repeatedly demonstrated his own personal courage and integrity in the service of peace and the nation.

CitizensPeaceManual.org has a three part mission:

1. To support and help publicize the book "Waging Peace" in order to increase its sales and public awareness of its message.

2. To support the development of professional-level training for peace activists in the US and around the world along the lines suggested by "Waging Peace."

3. To grow the membership of CitizensPeaceManual.org to the point that it becomes a force capable of:

a) Influencing the media, both alternative and mainstream

b) Raising funds to asssist the execution of Missions #1 and #2.

Three ways you can help:

1. Join the CitizensPeaceManual.org list and become a member so we can keep you informed of our progress and ways you can get more involved.

2. Purchase at least one copy of the book "Waging Peace" by Scott Ritter and read it. It's available in bookstores now and online.

3. Buy as many additional copies of "Waging Peace" as you are able and distribute them to:

Your local library...the pastor of your local church...friends and community members who you know are interested in peace...and others who care about the future of America and the positive things that America represents to the world.

Peace is attainable, but only if we are willing for work for it with greater dedication and intelligence than those who work against it on a daily, even hourly basis.
